Comillas, playa
La playa de Comillas, ubicada en el municipio Comillas, se extiende más allá del Paseo Marítimo de la villa a lo largo de 900 metros. La anchura media del arenal, 40 metros, proporciona una gran zona de ocio con varios puntos de entrada al arenal y numeroso aparcamiento a lo largo de su recorrido.
La Punta de la Guerra, que delimita a la playa por el oeste, contiene el puerto pesquero. Sobresaliendo de la línea de costa, protege parcialmente a la playa y filtra el oleaje que llega del noroeste. La Punta del Miradoiro, alejada del arenal y situada en su parte este, no tiene incidencia sobre las olas. Ambos cabos delimitan la gran ensenada de Comillas, que es su mitad izquierda contiene a la playa.
El oleaje moderado, con tamaños de 1 a 2 metros, destaca en otoño e invierno. Cuando las grandes mareas de septiembre arriban al Cantábrico esta parte de la costa, que recibe normalmente menos tamaño y fuerza, registra condiciones practicables para navegar. Ondas que abren a ambos lados, de pequeño recorrido y propicias para practicar maniobras. La presencia habitual de viento en la playa la convierte en una zona ideal para practicar kite-surf y wind-surf.
Es la playa de Comillas una parte del atractivo de la villa, donde lo bello amalgama naturalidad e historia. El paso tranquilo y sencillo por sus calles adoquinadas reportarán al caminante múltiples sensaciones. Recuerdos de tiempos pasados que habitan el presente y el mar completará.

The beach of Comillas, located in the municipality of Comillas, spreads beyond the Maritime Promenade of the villa along 900 meters. The average width of the sandbank, 40 meters, provides a great zone of leisure with several points of entry to the beach and numerous parking along its tour.
The Guerra Tip which delimits to the beach for the west, contains the fishing port. Standing out of the line of coast, it partially protects the beach and leaks the surge that comes from the northwest. The Miradoiro Tip, removed from the sandbank and placed in its east, does not have incident on the waves. Both ends delimit the great inlet of Comillas, which in its left half it contains to the beach.
The moderate surge, with sizes from 1 to 2 meters, stands out in autumn and winter. When the big tides of September arrive at the Cantabrian one this part of the coast, which receives normally less size and force, registers practicable conditions to sail. Waves that open to both sides, with small tour and usefull to practise maneuvers. The habitual presence of wind in the beach turns it into an ideal zone to practise kite-surf and windsurfing.
