Icono Español. Icon Spanish. El Muro, lugar El Muro es una zona que abre un singular circuito para la práctica del surf. Situado en ampliación de la dársena urbana que delimita la ciudad de Santander con la Segunda playa del Sardinero, tiene fácil acceso y cuenta con todos los servicios.

La prolongación de este espacio natural ha introducido su diseño dentro de la Ensenada del Sardinero. Un gran mirador semicircular señala lo puntos más notables de la bahía y actúa como acumulador del oleaje. Llegan las olas hasta este punto para aglutinar masas de agua que abren a izquierdas y pueden alcanzar recorrido medio. Cuando la dirección del oleaje es casi perpendicular a la dársena y ligeramente orientado hacia ella; se dan las mejores condiciones para olas buenas y seguras. El exceso de inclinación provocan que las olas cierren contra el muro; tornando la navegación difícil y peligrosa.

Múltiples opciones aparecerán contemplando el entorno desde EL Muro. Las playas vistas en la distancia, las rocas y promontorios recorridos por un paseo marítimo invitan al caminante a iniciar un pequeño viaje acompañado por el natural, caótico y armónico sonido del mar.

Icono Inglés. Icon English. El Muro, place El Muro is a zone that opens a singular circuit for the practice of surf. Placed in extension of the urban dock that delimits the city of Santander with the Second Sardinero beach , it has easy access and possesses all the services.

The prolongation of this natural space has introduced its design in the Inlet of the Sardinero. A great semicircular viewing-point indicates the most notable points of the bay and acts as accumulator of the surge. The waves come up to this point to agglutinate water masses that open to left sides and can reach medium tour. When the wave direction is almost perpendicular to the dock and lightly orientated towards it; are given the best conditions for good and sure waves. The excess of inclination provoke that the waves close against the wall; turning the navigation difficult and dangerous.

Multiple options will appear contemplating the environment from El Muro. The beaches are seen in the distance, the rocks and promontories crossed by a promenade invite the wayfarer to initiate an small trip accompanied by the natural, chaotic and harmonic sound of the Sea.

El Madero, playa

Su complicado acceso e irregular arenal la convierten en una playa tranquila donde poder disfrutar del Mar Cantábrico en estado puro.

Emplazada en el extremo de la playa de Canallave, sólo es accesible en marea baja. La configuración de la costa, la presencia de rocas y formaciones geológicas constituyen un atractivo para el caminante. Estos tesoros quedan parcialmente cubiertos con la marea alta que impide la entrada y sesga El Madero, camuflando su espacio con las aguas y el oleaje. La presencia de olas, como ocurre en toda la zona, es constante y habitual. Tiene varios picos y olas características. Abren a ambos lados, de medio recorrido y con presencia de tubos. Situando a 200 metros de la orilla, la zona de confort dispone mejor trazado y aleja el peligro de las rocas que habitan en todo el área. La práctica del surf en EL Madero es sólo aconsejable para surfers experimentados que conozcan bien esta singular cala. Además de las rocas, las corrientes tienen una dinámica irregular y cambiante que es reflejado en las olas.

La cima del acantilado que cierra El Madero disfruta del sonido del mar percibido en la distancia y proporciona una visión del entorno que se endulza con el atardecer.

Its complicated access and irregular sandbank turn it into a calm beach where to be able to enjoy the Cantabrian Sea in pure condition. The presence of waves, as happens in the whole zone, is constant and habitual. It has several beaks and typical waves. Them open to both sides, have medium distance with presence of pipes. Placing to 200 meters of the shore, the zone of comfort arranges better tracing and removes the danger of the rocks that live in all the area.

Located in the end of Canallave’s beach, only it is accessible in low tide. The configuration of the coast, the presence of rocks and geological formations constitute an attractive for the wayfarer. These exchequers remain partially covered with the high tide that prevents the entry and cuts El Madero, camouflaging its space with the waters and the surge. The practice of surf in El Madero is only advisable for experienced surfers that know well this singular cove. Besides the rocks, the currents have an irregular and changeable dynamics that is reflected in the waves.

The top of the cliff that closes El Madero enjoys the sound of the sea perceived in the distance and provides a vision of the environment that is sweetened by the late afternoon.

Barnejo, playa

Icono Español. Icon Spanish. Barenjo, playa La playa de Barnejo, también llamada playa de Berellín, se encuentra en la localidad de Prellezo, perteneciente al municipio de Val de San Vicente. Emplazada en la costa occidental de Cantabria, de reducidas dimensiones, descubre un área singular de especial belleza.

La Punta del Morro de Berellín y la Punta de África, dos pequeños cabos que se ubican en la zona, delimitan la Ensenada de Berellín. La playa está contenida en la ensenada que compuesta por formaciones kársticas y un dibujo libre e irregular de la costa va abriendo la entrada al mar a través de sus acantilados. Apenas 100 metros en la parte más ancha, crean un canal que serpentea a lo largo de casi 800 metros de longitud.

El diferente y potente paisaje que rodea a la playa, estimula los sentidos que por los senderos van descubriendo la zona. Las aguas tranquilas y de color verdoso traslucen el fondo arenoso que invita a disfrutar de un relajado baño. El amanecer, su atardecer, el mediodía se convierten en diferentes y buenos perfiles de una misma postal.

The Tip of El Morro de Berellín and the Tip of Africa, two small capes that are located in the zone, delimit Berellín’s Inlet. The beach is contained in the inlet that composed by karst formations and with a free and irregular drawing of the coast, opens the entry to the sea across its cliffs. Hardly with 100 meters in the broadest part, believe a channel that winds along almost 800 meters of length.

The different and powerful landscape that is around the beach, stimulates the senses that through the paths are discovering the zone. The calm waters and of greenish color reveal the sandy bottom that invites to enjoy a relaxed bathe. Icono Español. Icon Spanish. El Camello, playa El Camello es una pequeña y emblemática playa situada en Santander. Sus reducidas dimensiones, 200 metros de largo y 50 metros de ancho, no reflejan la singularidad del pequeño arenal.

Ubicada entre la Primera playa del Sardinero y la Península de la Magdalena, posee abundantes rocas diseminadas por sus aguas y fondo con pendiente notable. Una de sus formaciones rocosas, con forma de camello, da nombre a la playa. Cuando las condiciones lo permiten, es una zona ideal para practicar submarinismo debido a la riqueza de su arrecife. Destaca también la pesca deportiva y deportes de playa. Los fines de semana y verano se organizan de forma amateur competiciones de palas. La naturaleza de la playa, su fisonomía y limitadas dimensiones descartan la práctica del surf.

Este pequeño rincón de descanso multiplica sus posibilidades a través de sus aguas y la perspectiva que abre de la costa central santanderina. Las playas del Sardinero y Mataleñas a la izquierda, junto con la cara oeste de la Península de la Magdalena, forman una postal que completa la línea del horizonte.

Located between the First beach of the Sardinero and the Peninsula of the Magdalena, it possesses abundant rocks spread by its waters and bottom with notable earring. One of its rocky formations, with form of camel, gives name to the beach. When the conditions allow it, it is an ideal zone to practise scuba diving due to the wealth of its reef. It also the sports fishing and beach sports stand out. The weekends and summer,amateur competitions with ball and raquets on the beach are organized. The nature of the beach, its physiognomy and limited dimensions reject the practice of surf.

This small corner of rest multiplies its possibilities across its waters and the perspective that opens of the central coast of Santander. The beaches of the Sardinero and Mataleñas to the left side, together with the west face of the Peninsula of the Magdalena, form a postcard that completes the line of the horizon.

La Fuente, playa

La Fuente, playa La playa La Fuente, ubicada en San Vicente de las Barquera; en la costa occidental de Cantabria, es una pequeña cala de 150 metros de longitud y 20 metros de anchura media. Conservada prácticamente en estado natural, presenta baja ocupación y no dispone de ningún servicio.

La Punta de África, a la izquierda, y la Punta del Fraile, a la derecha, contienen la ensenada y delimitan el arenal. Sus reducidas dimensiones y orografia descubren un entorno singular. Abierta al mar, recibe la fuerza del Cantánbrico que baña la costa y es modulado por los acantilados de la zona. El fuerte oleaje que llega a La Fuente abre a ambos lados. El corto recorrido que alcanzan las ondas favorece las maniobras. La profundidad de la Ensenada de Fuentes proporciona varios picos de olas, a diferentes distancias de la orilla. A medida que avanzamos hacia mar abierto las corrientes, ya presentes, aumentan su fuerza. Por este motivo, adentrarse a los picos alejados es sólo recomendable para surfers experimentados y conscientes de los riesgos.

La apartada localización, las dimensiones, rocas y corrientes son características que definen a esta cala y proyectan virtudes que ayudan a desconectar mientras se surfea y disfruta de su diferente navegación.

La Fuente, beach The beach of La Fuente, located in San Vicente de la Barquera; on the western coast of Cantabria, it is a small cove with 150 meters of length and 20 meters of average width. Preserved practically in natural condition, it presents low occupation and has not any service.

The Tip of Africa, to the left side, and the Tip of El Fraile, to the right, contain the inlet and delimit the sandbank. Its limited dimensions and orography discover a singular environment. Opened the sea, it receives the force of the Cantánbrico that washes the coast and is modulated by the cliffs of the zone. The strong surge that comes to La Fuente opens to both sides. The short tour that the waves reach favors the maneuvers. The depth of the Inlet of Fuentes provides several beaks of waves, to different distances of the shore. As we advance towards open sea the currents, already present, increases its force. Due to this motive, to enter to the remote beaks, is only advisable for experienced surfers and conscious of the risks.

The isolated location, the dimensions, rocks and currents are features that define to this cove and project virtues that help to disconnect while you are surfing and enjoying its different navigation.

Punta Liñera, playa

Icono Español. Icon Spanish. Punta Liñera, playa Punta Liñera es un pequeña cala emplazada en San Vicente de la Barquera, en la costa oriental de Cantabria. Sus reducidas dimensiones, apenas 150 metros en un parte más ancha; con la arena sólo visible en marea baja, sirven de acceso a un entorno que ofrece múltiples posibilidades.

Punta Liñera, nombre que recibe el cabo que protege y bautiza la cala, forma una ensenada que es acotada en su extremo derecho por la Punta del Castillo. La rasa mareal que cimenta sus fondos contribuye a crear un rico ecosistema y contribuye a la biodiversidad de sus aguas. Fondos de roca pulida y erosionada por efecto del Mar Cantábrico a lo largo del tiempo habitan cerca de la costa. Más allá, el Mar arriba libre recorriendo la costa y formando una ola característica de izquierdas, rápida y tubera.

EL paseo por los acantilados descubre la amplitud del entorno y su riqueza paisajística. Hacia el Oeste la costa de Pechón, al Este la costa de San Vicente de la Barquera. Refulgente visión que fusionará el espacio con la imaginación

Liñera Tip, beach

Its limited dimensions, no more than 150 meters in its width; with the sand only visible in low tide, is used as access to an environment that offers multiple possibilities.

Liñera Tip, name that receives the end that protects and baptizes the cove, forms an inlet that is annotated in its right wing by El Castillo Tip. The tidal plain that establishes its funds helps to create a rich ecosystem and the biodiversity of its waters. Funds of polished and eroded rock by effect of the Cantabrian Sea throughout the time are near the coast. Beyond, the Sea arrives freely crossing the coastline and forming a characteristic wave that open to left sides, with speed and pipes.

La Virgen del Mar, playa

En la península que contiene la Ermita que da nombre a la playa, el Mar Cantábrico baña su perímetro en marea alta. Un puente que habilita el acceso a la península desde la costa, configurando su dibujo, habilitando una zona con un pequeño arenal en su cara este.

Las reducidas dimensiones de la playa, 180 metros de longitud y 50 metros de anchura media, junto con la presencia de rocas y fuertes corrientes condicionan la practica de deportes acuáticos. Destaca la pesca deportiva y el submarinismo. La práctica del surf debido a las condiciones no es apta. Las olas sesgadas, de corto recorrido y baja calidad convierte el baño en una grata experiencia, respetando las indicaciones y cuando el mar lo permita.

El entorno formado por la Ermita, la playa, los arenales y la peninsula constituyen un lugar de descanso y contemplación a través de los pasos que crucen los múltiples senderos que el tiempo marcó sobre la tierra y el viento recorre cuando la brisa marina llega a su encuentro.

La Virgen del Mar, beach

Amio, playa

Icono Español. Icon Spanish. Amio, playa La playa de Amió está situada en la localidad de Pechón, perteneciente al municipio de Val de San Vicente. Situada entre las rías de Tina Mayor y Tina menor es una de las playas más occidentales de Cantabria. Emplazada a apenas unos kilómetros de Asturias, disfruta del Mar Cantábrico que recibe en estado natural.

La fisonomía de su arenal , con 700 metros de longitud, une las Lastras de Pechón a la costa. El lado izquierdo de la playa está acotado por la Punta de Pechón que esculpida por el efecto de la fuerza del mar, conforma una amplia e idílica ensenada. La marea baja redimensiona la playa descubriendo un pequeño paseo jalonado por rocas y formaciones geológicas . La marea alta oculta a Amió en su 80% y aumenta la riqueza de sus fondos marinos. Dualidad perpetua que la Luna trae consigo y que hace brillar a Amió con especial luz.

La presencia de corrientes y la fuerza del mar aconsejan extremar la precaución en la practica de deportes acuáticos. Las fuertes condiciones, abundancia de rocas y la falta de trazabilidad en su oleaje la convierten en una zona no apta para practicar surf. Destacan la pesca deportiva y el submarinismo.

El empinado acceso a Amió dificulta la entrada a la playa y ofrece una panorámica del lugar desde donde poder disfrutar de la inmensidad del océano reflejada en un punto, en un instante.

Placed between the stuaries of Tina Mayor and Tina Menor is one of the most western beaches of Cantabria. Located to scarcely a few kilometres of Asturias, it enjoys the Cantabrian Sea that receives in natural condition.

The physiognomy of its sandbank, with 700 meters of length, joins the Lastras of Pechón to the coast. The left side of the beach is delimited by the Tip of Pechón that, carved for the effect of the sea force, shapes a wide and idyllic inlet. The low tide redraws the beach discovering an small area marked by rocks and geological formations. The high tide conceals Amió in its 80 % and increases the wealth of its sea beds. Perpetual duality that the Moon brings with it and that makes shine to Amió with special light.

The presence of currents, and the force of the sea advise us to carry to extremes the caution in the practice of aquatic sports. The strong conditions and abundance of rocks, and the lack of traceability in its surge turn it into a not suitable zone to practise surf. The sport fishing and the scuba diving stand out.

The steep access to Amió complicates the access to the beach and offers a panoramic view of the place from where being able to enjoy the immensity of the ocean reflected in a point, in an instant.

San Juan de la Canal, playa

Situada a menos de 10 km de Santander, en la costa central de Cantabria; goza de la proximidad a la capital cántabra conservando recogimiento y parte de su condición natural. Las reducidas dimensiones de la playa, 600 metros de longitud y 50 metros de ancho medio, disponen un arenal llano, de fina y endurecida arena.

La Punta de San Juan de la Canal, cabo situado en dirección este, contiene a la playa en el principio de su cara interior. El Pico del Sol, alejado del arenal y situado en la prolongación de su lado derecho, delimita la zona de influencia de la playa. El contorno que rodea la playa, dispone de varias carreteras, caminos y senderos que facilitan la entrada desde prácticamente cualquier punto.

El fondo rocoso, con abundante pradera marina, crea un hábitat rico y diverso. Las aguas de color verde azuladas reflejan la naturaleza del Mar Cantábrico, que pule las rocas y fondo marino convirtiendo a esta zona en un lugar de alto valor para la practica del submarinismo, el baño y paddle surf.

San Juan de la Canal, beach

Placed less than 10 km from Santander, on Cantabria’s central coast; it enjoys the proximity to the Cantabrian capital, preserving its privacy and part of its natural condition. The limited dimensions of the beach, 600 meters of length and 50 meters of average width, creates a flat sandbank, of thin and hard sand.

The Tip of San Juan de la Canal, end placed in East direction, contains to the beach in the beginning of its interior face. The Beak of the Sol, removed from the sandbank and placed in the prolongation of its right side, delimits the zone of influence of the beach. The contour that surrounds the beach, has several roads, ways and paths that facilitate the entry from practically any point.

The rocky bottom, with abundant marine meadow, creates a rich and diverse habitat. The bluish waters of green color reflect the nature of the Cantabrian Sea, which smooths the rocks and sea bed converting to this zone into a place of high value for the practice of the scuba diving, the swimming and paddle-surf.

Comillas, playa

Icono Español. Icon Spanish. Comillas, beach La playa de Comillas, ubicada en el municipio Comillas, se extiende más allá del Paseo Marítimo de la villa a lo largo de 900 metros. La anchura media del arenal, 40 metros, proporciona una gran zona de ocio con varios puntos de entrada al arenal y numeroso aparcamiento a lo largo de su recorrido.

La Punta de la Guerra, que delimita a la playa por el oeste, contiene el puerto pesquero. Sobresaliendo de la línea de costa, protege parcialmente a la playa y filtra el oleaje que llega del noroeste. La Punta del Miradoiro, alejada del arenal y situada en su parte este, no tiene incidencia sobre las olas. Ambos cabos delimitan la gran ensenada de Comillas, que es su mitad izquierda contiene a la playa.

El oleaje moderado, con tamaños de 1 a 2 metros, destaca en otoño e invierno. Cuando las grandes mareas de septiembre arriban al Cantábrico esta parte de la costa, que recibe normalmente menos tamaño y fuerza, registra condiciones practicables para navegar. Ondas que abren a ambos lados, de pequeño recorrido y propicias para practicar maniobras. La presencia habitual de viento en la playa la convierte en una zona ideal para practicar kite-surf y wind-surf.

Es la playa de Comillas una parte del atractivo de la villa, donde lo bello amalgama naturalidad e historia. El paso tranquilo y sencillo por sus calles adoquinadas reportarán al caminante múltiples sensaciones. Recuerdos de tiempos pasados que habitan el presente y el mar completará.

Icono Inglés. Icon English. Comillas, beach The beach of Comillas, located in the municipality of Comillas, spreads beyond the Maritime Promenade of the villa along 900 meters. The average width of the sandbank, 40 meters, provides a great zone of leisure with several points of entry to the beach and numerous parking along its tour.

The Guerra Tip which delimits to the beach for the west, contains the fishing port. Standing out of the line of coast, it partially protects the beach and leaks the surge that comes from the northwest. The Miradoiro Tip, removed from the sandbank and placed in its east, does not have incident on the waves. Both ends delimit the great inlet of Comillas, which in its left half it contains to the beach.

The moderate surge, with sizes from 1 to 2 meters, stands out in autumn and winter. When the big tides of September arrive at the Cantabrian one this part of the coast, which receives normally less size and force, registers practicable conditions to sail. Waves that open to both sides, with small tour and usefull to practise maneuvers. The habitual presence of wind in the beach turns it into an ideal zone to practise kite-surf and windsurfing.

It is the beach of Comillas a part of the attractive of the villa, where the beauty amalgamates naturalness and history. The calm and simple step along its paved streets will bring to the wayfarer multiple sensations. Recollections of old times that live in the present and that the sea will complete.
