Surf y Niebla. III

Surf & Fog. III

English The area was filled by a line of energy. After a few weeks of flat sea, all of us that were in the water, tried to look for some waves more. A clarity opened in the sky and the beach recovered the necessary brightness to continue surfing. The abundance of people in the water was complicating the day, nevertheless the respect was reigning and had translated the evening in a tight and exciting afternoon of surf.

Positioned in on side of a beak of waves, the current helped me to enter again. When I came ultimately, other colleagues had chosen the same zone. I was sat on the board and looked at the sea in the distance. Crests of waves with white foam, when them broke, were seen in dispersed areas. The winds of previous days had been giving form to the waves that in that moment we were enjoying. A perceptible giant in the distant distance appeared in front of our eyes. A riot was listened to the right part of my position. Doing calculations, its size, it had more than two meters. It was growing up to doubling its figure. A little time later it dragged me and pushed me down. I reacted with rapidity and I raised myself over the board. Bearing the avalanche I balanced my weight up to reaching his base. It was opening to left side, I turned with a dry blow towards that side. The board was bouncing on the water until, stuck to the wall of the wave, I obtained stability. The adrenaline shot my attention and the perception of the tracing with multitude of details. The water under me was devoured towards the pipe that was formed. The sound of the table on the sea was guiding my maneuvers, a soft and deep smell of saltpeter was entering the body on having breathed. He was feeling the power of the water on my knees. After crossing forty meters, I decided to rise up to the top to finish the trip; because the shore of the beach was nearby.

At 9 p.m. the day was greeting to the night. Some companions were already moving towards the beach and the sea became impracticable. Resting on the board I contemplated the sights of the environment. From Santa Marina, to Mouro’s Island and Santander to the bottom, the landscape was appearing with a wild and natural beauty. The light, still present, was revealed alternatively between the clouds. The movement of the water rocked the surfers on its surface. Coming the hour of finishing the day, I proposed to rest awhile before going out. Another wave approached, when I was on its top, a cheerful dizziness flooded me. In an instant, to my left side: the irregular surface of the sea, to another side: a semivertical abyss that had exceeded three meters. With the half of the body sunk in the water and the rest suspended in the air; that sensation happened through me.

Passed a quarter of hour, a thin rain started falling down. The sound of the water caressing the sea it was relaxing. The contours of the landscape were getting blurred. The beach was still dry, loosing its heat of the day and filling the environment with a weak steam. It stopped raining. The heat had made the way to a small haze, which moved from land to open sea. In a few minutes the fog occupied the whole space which did not allow the visibility beyond twenty meters; and converting the area in small private zones.
