El Muro. Olas de Otoño. III

The Wall. Autumn waves. III

Icono Inglés. Icon English On Friday dawned rainy. At 10 a.m. the temperatures were overcoming 14 degrees and the wind had left the downtown. On the way to the beach, I found several cars with boards and some van, towards the Wall. The parking presented half occupation. The tide foreseen for the two of the evening, was advancing; bringing a great coefficient. The water already occupied the area that separates the end of the Second beach of the Sardinero from the nearby access. I saw as colleagues from other beaches were coming. People in the water, navigating the first beaks; were encouraging to enter.

The wind, sheltered in the coast, provided consistency to the surge that for the 11 had a size of meter and a half. A colleague sheathed in his neoprene came up to the rock wall. Wave after wave waited his time. A bigger wave approached, it hit against the curve agglutinating the volume that transported. The comb rubbed the base of the walk, splashing the walkers. Raised in the comb, that surfer launched the day. He inclined his weight lightly ahead. Going down for the sharp-pointed wave, he planned the maneuver towards out; curling the tour softly. From there, he turned again to the top, to be dismissed and to realize a spin in the air. The clean drop enable him to continue sailing until the wave fused its size with the sea.

El Muro. Olas de Otoño. II

The Wall. Autumn waves. II

Icono Inglés. Icon English The days happened with the same inertia in the sea. A light movement of the waves that were coming to the shore was breaking the monotony that was flooding the sandbank. The unusually brilliant Sun for the epoch of the year was surrounding the clouds with light sheen accompanying the ocean in calmness. The surface of the water was looking like cover for a giant canvas. Some beaks were standing out occasionally to return again to the same level. Day after day the temperatures were kept high and the sultry air began to be felt. On Wednesday new predictions were proposed, with notable changes and » thick to moderate sea » for Friday.

The between season covered with water the city. Strong winds, happened by storms and rain. Up to the midday, the sky continued grey. The clouds cleared up in the evening and the air, clean again, was transporting the freshness of the humid grass. Near the Wall, the low tide was reaching its half point. The surge was bringing with force and the previous harmony turned into advance of the waves with an irregular dance that struck the rocks and dragged sand in its retreat. Several persons in the promenade were looking at the combs and foams that were appearing to a few meters of the shore. The birds settled in the sidewalk, to see the sea to change all of a sudden. Remembering, I saw as the thoughts were crossing with the dreams, the rain woke up meanwhile.

El Muro. Olas de Otoño. I

Caravans and people walking along the coast were rounding the postcard that was forming the nature, the landscape and the amalgam of diverse persons. A girl, sat to the entry of the sandbank, looked thoughtful at the movement of the Cantabrian Sea enjoying every point in the one that was putting his attention.

The predictions, at a standstill two weeks ago, were announcing good conditions crowned by the traffic of the Moon in its magic tour. The Monday I decided to approach the Wall. The Sardinero was boiling of people encouraged by the sunny evening. The park that gives entry to the beach registered good environment. Persons going and coming, tourists taking photos and local people walking with pets on the sand. The hot temperatures due to the South Wind, name with which is known in Cantabria to the warm and windy air, were encouraging the terraces of the beach bars. After parking, I was walking until the end of the Second beach. The rocks of the end, annotated in its top part for the seafront, were stained with the dance of the surge. Two lads with bodyboards were playing in the water. The wetsuits of showy color were forming the advance of those on the small waves that existed. Barely half a meter of height that to an instant gave a fleeting navigation.
